Task Description
As a way to summarize some of the key events that you'll need to know for your upcoming exam, we're going to create a collaborative/interactive timeline with an online tool called, "Dipity." Hopefully this will be a useful tool in helping you review and firm up your understanding of some of the key events in US History from the 20th century.

Each timeline entry will have the following components
A brief overview of the event 3-5 sentences. In the overview, you'll write a short summary of the event and elaborate on the historical significance.
Your timeline entry should have a photo (from the Creative Commons if this is possible). I recommend doing an advanced search at flickr and checking all of the Creative Commons options. For the sake of time, go ahead and find your images using google image searches if you'd like. Content licensed in the Creative Commons is something you could take a look at for future projects.
Include a related web link and enter the location in the appropriate locations when adding the event.
If time permits, embed a related YouTube video.
Sign your entry with the following, "Contributed by: .... "
Feedback-if you have time, please fill out this short online form about how you might use Dipity for other classes in the future.
Use your history text and online resources to fill in information about the different events.
To access the collaborative timeline, do the following:
Enter castillejastudent as the user name and student as the password.
Begin adding events to the timeline
Each of you will be responsible for contributing two timeline entries to the timeline. Feel free to contribute events that you studied but are not listed here as well.

Creative Commons - CC is a wonderful content licensing mechanism that allows property owners to give explicit permission for thieir works to be re-used and or remixed for a variety of non-commercial and commercial purposes. In addition to a images in the Creative Commons on the web, sites like Jamendo and CCMixteroffer CC licensed audio.
